Over the next two decades Tony and Cheryl worked tirelessly to establish themselves as Melbourne’s kitchen renovation experts. Evolving their business from solely manufacturing cut-to-size joinery, to a comprehensive design service with a dedicated showroom displaying their full range.

From humble beginnings, Tony and Cheryl operated as a tight knit team of 7 – with them at the helm, plus four Cabinet Makers and a Manager. A business model that has stood the test of time and remained in place over two decades later.

One kitchen soon turned into 1,000 as word of mouth and referrals from happy customers became the Wood Wizards lifeblood. And it remains so to this day.

The formula to their success is simply “to do a good job and look after people – we honour and deliver on our promise, always.” Their hands-on business style is completely customer orientated, and they worked hard to attract good cabinet makers, staff and trades people, making lifelong friendships and family along the way.

Look 10 years down the track and think – will my kitchen still be relevant? A kitchen renovation is a big investment, and we have always leant towards classic designs and materials that will stand the test of time. Many of our clients have had their kitchens from Wood Wizards for 20 to 30 years and have only now started to come back to us for a refresh, decades down the track.

Tony & Cheryl’s son, Jordan, joined the family business in 2004 aged 18 and straight out of high school. Eagerly completing his apprenticeship under the watchful guidance of his parents, Jordan learned the ropes of the family business clocking up hours in the factory, on site and on the showroom floor. From cabinet making to customer service and design, the years spent immersed in every inch of the business is what holds him in good stead today.

Fast forward 13 years – and a lot of kitchens later - in 2017 the Corbett’s welcomed their third grandson, William to the family and Jordan and his wife Megan began the transition to take over the wands to carry on the Wood Wizards legacy.

The craziest designs we have ever been asked to deliver? I think a bright fluorescent blue kitchen (though luckily the clients husband happened to be colour blind... true story!) and two AFL themed kitchens in the Melbourne and Collingwood colours...
